Once upon a prayer a voice called out to me
It said I would speak to nations all across the sea
That I would lead a generation tailored to be
Disciples of his word, love, and harmony
But then I thought does he really mean me?
Speak
I hung my head and said this cannot be true
All the sins I’ve committed, drugs and drinking too
Cheats and lies still sleep deprived; my eyes rain the tears that I’ve cried. Dear father my sins
I am very weak so what must I do to get this through to you
Speak
The voice came back with resonance
It is evident he said that you have repented
Yes said I but the sins I’ve committed
You know he said that I can turn your weakness into power your fear into none, confident you will become more resounding than one billion drums
